About

I am currently the Gilder-Lehrman Postdoctoral Fellow at the International Center for Jefferson Studies at Monticello, Virginia. My research focuses on the political ties and bonds forged across the Atlantic Ocean in the years immediately before and during the American Revolution, and as such seeks to examine the Revolution as a global political event.

My current project, titled 'The American Question: British Politics and the American Revolution, 1763-1776', analyses the networks of knowledge and experience in Anglo-American politics by examining the politicians most involved in the trans-oceanic discussions and debates. I have general interests in political, religious, imperial and colonial history, as well as digital humanities approaches to historical research and investigation.
